D’IYANU Look-book/Review

I love fashion. It’s my life. I could rock the trendiest jeans down to last seasons shoes and still strut around looking and feeling good.  I’m all for remixing clothes and making them it into “my own” style, however there’s a different sense of confidence I own when I’m wearing African Inspired Clothing! Maybe it’s the unique blend of beautiful colors, or maybe the bold patterns that stand out; All I know is, there’s a remarkable feeling of royalty when I slip into a Dashiki or Maxi Dress with African prints!

Green Dress

I was super excited when D’iyanu reached out to me to do a blog post review of a few items from their 2017 Summer Collection! They were so polite and professional, I was immediately interested in the opportunity! As soon as I received my garments (not-so patiently waiting by the window),  I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and fit of the material. I ordered a size small in everything and surprisingly all the items fit true to size. This Green Maxi dress is from their New Arrival Selection called, “Abiola Off the shoulder ruffle maxi dress (Aqua Circles)”. This dress is very colorful and flirty.  The one split in the front allows you to walk in your heels fearlessly as the wind blows. All Kind of Beyonce’ vibes! I loved this piece! Trust me, you WILL spin at least twice in this dress! It happens by default!

These Wide Leg shorts were my absolute favorite! I adore pockets on just about anything, so I was super pumped when I found out these shorts were made with extra roomy pockets!  The Turquoise and Orange peacock feather print is so rich and bright, it’s hard not to grab attention when wearing them.  I love that you can dress these up with heels or simply wear them casually with some flats. I decided to pair them with a white top, but no doubt these shorts would be just as cute with a black blouse as well! If you’re looking for something unique and chic to rock this summer, make sure you check out the Makena Wide Leg Shorts in New Arrivals. They have different colors too!

Last but certainly not least is this super sexy Imani Lavender Jumpsuit from the Summer 17′ Collection. What I love most about this jumpsuit is the pattern. It’s sooo magical! It has a comfortable back zipper that’s easy to reach and the pockets definitely add an extra flair to the look. The length certainly wouldn’t be an issue for my tall ladies, however I did have to roll up the bottom to accommodate my 5’3 height. The material is extra airy and comfortable enough to wear in the summer or Spring.

“Meaning behind the brand name “D’IYANU”The “D’” means “of” or “from“ in French, while “IYANU” means “miracle” or “wonderful” in the Nigerian language, Yoruba. The literal translation is “of or from [something] wonderful” reminding everyone that they’re uniquely and wonderfully made and to dress like it. The blending of the two languages also signifies the blending of the two cultures which define the brand: African and western.”
